Macaroni and Vegetable Cheese Bake
Preparation Time: 15 minutes
Cooking Time: 25 minutes
Serves: 4
Ingredients
2 L water
1 tsp salt
1 3/4 cup macaroni
2 packets MAGGI Tasty Cheese Sauce Mix
2 cups milk
3 rashers bacon, cooked and chopped
1 cup frozen mixed vegtables
3/4 cup grated tasty cheese
Method
- Preheat the oven to 200°C. Grease a medium sized ovenproof dish.
- Bring the water to the boil in a large saucepan. Add the salt and macaroni. Cook for 7-9 minutes or until the macaroni is just tender. Stir occasionally.
- While the macaroni is cooking, make the sauce. Stir the sauce mix and milk together in a saucepan. Bring to the boil, stirring constantly. Turn down the heat and simmer for 2 minutes.
- Drain the macaroni and add to the sauce with the bacon and frozen vegetables. Turn into the dish. Sprinkle the grated cheese over the top.
- Cook in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until the sauce bubbles around the edge of the dish and the cheese is golden brown.
Hints
Make in little individual dishes for children to have their own special serving.
